The Churdan public library will host “A Matter of Balance” with instructors from Greene County Medical Center public health.
The class is for anyone who is concerned about falls, is interested in improving their balance, flexibility and strength, has fallen in the past, or who has restricted activities because of concerns about falling.
“A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning program designed to help seniors manage falls and increase their activity levels. Participants will learn to see falls as controllable, set goals for increasing their activity, make changes to reduce their risk of falls at home, and learn exercises to increase their strength and balance.
The class will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 pm, March 14 through April 7 at the library. There is a $25 charge for the class, and at least eight persons are needed for the class to be held.
Persons who would like more information can call Laine Custer at 515-386-3228.
